Quire has performed several original themed pieces devised by it’s Musical Director, Bill Tamblyn.

Born to be King
A commemoration of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth
Derived from the script of The May Born to be King – by Dorothy L Sayers. – edited by Bill Tamblyn. This comprises a script for a team of readers; audience songs for Holy Week; and choral items from the World Music Repertoire of Quire reflecting the action of the story in music.
While this script is not an authorised religious text the event could be used as a service for Holy Week

Concert for Obama
Obama’s journey to the White House – celebrated in readings and song
This comprises a series of short extracts from the writings of Obama together with  choral items from the World Music Repertoire of Quire which reflect the story in music.

A celebration in song  of the fusion of the Gospel and Folk traditions of Europe and America – with additional examples from the Hispanic diaspora and Afrika

Derived from the novel King Jesus by Robert Graves edited by Bill Tamblyn

a reflection on the exile and return of the infant Christ
Derived from historical accounts of the time and augmented with accounts from refugees in the 21st century – written and compiled by Bill Tamblyn
This comprises a script for three readers and choral items from the World Music Repertoire of Quire, with some new material from Bill Tamblyn and Tony Barr.
